BU BC rivalry ends in a tie

BU huddles up before taking on BC at Alumni Stadium

Neither team could pull out a win on Saturday and the game ended in a 19-19 tie.

Both BU and BC came out hitting hard at Alumni Stadium yesterday. BC had solid defense and was able to capitalize on some BU mishaps in the first half. An early injury took BU’s hooker Xa Hopkins (CAS ’13) out at about 3:30 and Carol Almonte (CAS ’12) slid over from prop, bringing Aubrey MacGill (ENG ’13) into the game at tighthead.  The half ended with BC up 14-7, the BU try coming from senior wing Tiff Burks (CAS ’12) and converted by flyhalf Dee Nash (CAS ’14).

BU found its stride in the 60th minute with another try by Burks and one for outside center Jordan Lavy (CAS ’12).  An outright amazing kick from Nash basically on the line of touch tied the game up at 19-19. Despite some scrums within the 22 and a few runs, BU wasn’t able to pull ahead.

The physicality of the game should be good experience for BU who will be preparing for ARMY this coming weekend at home.
